Donnie Tyndall gets his own orange blazer

The Tennessee basketball program has been a bit of a cluster-eff lately, but they’re trying to make the best of it with new head coach Donnie Tyndall, starting with giving him his very own orange blazer. Steve and Matt Mears presented Tyndall with the coat yesterday, continuing their tradition their father, Ray, started years ago. Of course, Vol fans could only talk about how much better Bruce Pearl looked in it.

Here’s a video of the presentation, if you’re into that:

Has anyone ever wore that ugly orange jacket and went to be a great success? Maybe that should tell them something…

I think he might be and hope he is successful. That would be the best situation for both Tennessee and Kentucky from my view. Also, he’s marrying an Ashland girl and has Howard as an assistant who is an Ashland guy, so he at the very least has taste.

What did the one guy yell about a BBQ? Was he referring to the NCAA violation of Bruce Pearl?

Tyndall is a class act and a very nice guy. I’m glad he is seeing success.

At least he’s not a slime bucket like Calipari. He’ll surprise a lot of people in his first year
