Dickie V called Rick Pitino last night and encouraged him to resign

Dick Vitale has been one of Rick Pitino’s biggest supporters for a long time, but even he saw the writing on the wall last night.

Dickie V called into Bob Valvano’s show on ESPN 680 in Louisville this afternoon and said he called Pitino last night and left him a voicemail encouraging him to resign. Per Andy Sweeney, Vitale said he’s spoken to a person close to the scandal who believes that since it broke, someone flipped and more schools will be named. After the call, Dickie V got on the Twitter and said the same thing:

We’ve only just begun…

So who is the UL coach that facilitated the money to the player(s)? It just couldn’t have been Pitino. Maybe I missed it but I haven’t seen the name of the coach.

I’m sure you’ve seen the updates regarding coach-2.. but if not, it is seems that Pitino WAS THE facilitator

Please let one of those “schools to be named” be Duke! Please lord!

Duke is a Nike school. If Duke has done anything, so has Kentucky.

Duff86, I think your logic is flawed. You’re saying every adidas school was paying players?

Agree 100% sincitycat! I wish we would never let him back in Rupp since his Tubby comments.

Now everyone holds their breath. I want to believe Cal is everything he says, but the level of success he’s had does seem unreal. I’ll always remember that flip he did with Terrence Jones hours after he committed to Washington.

To be fair, *Kentucky* stole a kid from *Washington*. That’s not exactly a magnificent flip. If it had gone the other way I’d be more suspicious

Except, Cal didn’t reach out to Jones. Jones called Cal and said he made a mistake and wanted to come to Kentucky.

Every program in the country is holding their breath. The FBI fired a shotgun in a dark room and no one knows yet who got hit.

Three of the six teams named so far are in the preseason top 10.

Every one implicated will receive the death penalty unless of course said schools are from North Carolina.

Ugh … that self-important prick just HAS to stick his nose in everywhere. He was completely irrelevant as a coach yet he knows what everybody should do. Perfect proof of the old saying that even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.
