Dick Vitale made it safely to Lexington

Mark Jones and Dick Vitale are calling tomorrow’s game for ESPN, and in case you were worried, rest easy, Dickie V made it safely to Lexington. In true Dickie V fashion, he Periscoped his arrival at the private airport in Lexington and his ride into town. As you might imagine, it included plenty of comments about the Cats.

“A team like Kentucky come tournament time, they’ve got some quality wins. Certainly Louisville, beating Duke early. Normally John Calipari’s teams get better and better and better. This is the first time his team, I mean, they looked really outstanding defensively in that Duke game, and since then, they’ve sort of regressed. They’re up and down, they have some good moments, some bad moments. They just have to get more consistent with their play.”

He had extra special praise for Tyler Ulis.

“I love Tyler Ulis,” Vitale said. “I love his toughness, I love his heart. He wants to win so badly. Sometimes he jumps up after the game in the press conference, jumped on some of his teammates for the fact that they didn’t play with the effort or heart he wanted to see. Some people can misconstrue that and think there’s no chemistry, but I don’t buy that. I think it’s a kid who wants to win so so much.”

Watch all of Dickie V’s comments in the Periscope. It’s kind of awesome:

“..at the private airport in Lexington”

Where might this be unless you’re talking Corman’s setup in Nicholasville

TAC Air next to Bluegrass airport. Where all the private charters and jets come into.

The glass is half full. This means that I won’t be putting any strain on my TV’s speakers for a couple of hours.

He really should have stayed home and skipped this game… and every future Kentucky game for that matter. There has never been a more annoying sportscaster in the history of broadcasting.
