Devin Booker is excited about practice

via gulflive.com
via gulflive.com

At this point, Willie Cauley-Stein, Marcus Lee, and Alex Poythress have announced they will return for next season, making the Cats’ front court absolutely loaded. For maybe the first time at UK, John Calipari will have two elite juniors on his roster, rubbing some major salt in his haters’ wounds and making the BBN a little giddy.

With three decisions (really just two) still to come, incoming freshmen Devin Booker tweeted what most of us are already thinking about next season:

Yeah, it is.

“Really just two” – You saying Dakari is staying? I’d draft him over Young or the Twins, but that’s me…

She is referring to “two” as in the Harrisons is really just one decision. i.e. The Harrisons and Dakari = 2

No, because the twins will most likely declare or stay together, so there is only two decisions between them and Dakari.

You are a drinker if you would draft dakari over young. the nba is moving away from the dakari type player. Too big and slow. He will get ate up in pick and rolls in the nba. You want evidence regarding comments on pick and roll see 2014 NCAA tourney uk vs everyone

Dakari will get killed on defense in the NBA? Did you not see James Young’s attempts at playing defense this year? He was, without a doubt, the WORST defensive player I have seen at UK in the last few years. Every time there was a defensive breakdown, Young was the root cause. He gave up twice as many points as he scored. Very gifted in every aspect, except the ability to guard ANY division one player. Dakari is a little slow, but I’d take him over two James Young’s on the defensive end.

We do not need Dakari. I want you all to think I’m on the cutting edge of all the things that the kids are talking about, but I’m not. #wannabefrat

While the ‘really just two…’ could be/probably is accurate, I feel like Aaron should be looking at a completely different draft scenario than Andrew.

With or without Dekari, UK will have a man’s front-court next year! All the UK ladies want one more year of Big Willie and Big Johnson!

Given the Doron Lamb comments I think this us a very savvy and positive comment. Pretty imprressive from a youngster. Politically astute.

Both are going to pro after their junior year. Doesn’t matter if it’s 1st or 2nd round, pro is pretty elite.

Do some people get on hear and make argumentative comments just for the sake of doing so? Come on, lets talk basketball a little more and correct people less.

I’m more than a little giddy about next season! While it’s no surprise when the players declare for the draft, it does make your heart hurt a little. Marcus Lee, Willie & now Alex returning makes me scream a big HELL YEAH!

Can you imagine these two teams going against each other?

PG: An. Harrison vs. T. Ulis
SG: Aa. Harrison vs. Devin Booker
SF: Alex Poythress vs. Marcus Lee (or Willis)
PF: Trey Lyles vs. Karl Towns
C: Willie Cauley-Stein vs. Dakari Johnson

This may not have the top end talent of 2010 or 2012, but it would be BY FAR the deepest team Cal has had while he’s been at UK. Come on down, Twins!

Pretty crazy that if the Twins and Dakari come back, in just one year this Team goes from the youngest Cal’s had to the oldest Cal’s had.
