Junior Derek Willis will miss the next two weeks due to a finger injury suffered in practice on Saturday. Willis is expected to return for October 27th’s scrimmage. According to Coach Calipari, it is nothing serious and he will be ready for the season.

Get well soon, Derek!

Can still run 5s with Floreal without going to the two new walk-ons, he should know the system and be able to help the freshman

Feel bad for him. Bit at least it is only our bench guys getting banged up.

Did Willis and Brian Long break up or are they still together?

This man has practiced with the best players in the country for 3 damn years and is still just a bench player. Not even a solid contributor. Tells me all I need to know about him. Can’t wait for the “why doesn’t Willis play more” calls from the same people who ask “why doesn’t barker get to play” smh.

Willis is a junior starting this season. You need to learn some basic math.

And we may not have had that perfect regular season run last year but for his contribution in that game against Columbia where we were shorthanded due to injuries: “I was proud of Derek Willis…I thought Derek was outstanding.” – Coach John Calipari http://www.ukathletics.com/news/sports_m-baskbl_recaps_121014aae_html

I know his dad. After his freshman year he was contacted by someone at IU and thought about transferring there.

Oh it’s IU now? You trolls keep recycling that same story but the school changes every time.

I love that Cal takes players from U of L that he doesn’t even want.

Don’t show em what you been working on Derek “what u talkin bout” Willis. This way he will be a surprise 1st rounder next year.

What’s he been working on? Filling the water bottles? I call it like I see it and that man never deserved a scholarship to play for the best coach and team in the world. He just doesnt. I hope he transfers and frees up a scholarship cal can actually use.

Yeah unfortunately he probably should have transferred, from what I hear he’s simply not a hard worker and doesn’t put the effort in. Sorry but here with the talent coming in every year you won’t see the court Unless you do. Would’ve been better off at UL or IU where he still could have played (and possibly gotten free hookers)

Yeah, Derek is at a program where he will always be remembered and where he has been part of a lot of history and making the best friends of his life while on a ride he couldn’t take anywhere else. Boy, what a terrible choice.
