Congratulations to DeAndre Liggins, whose Sioux Falls Skyforce won the NBA D-League Championship last night with a 91-63 win over the Los Angeles D-Fenders. Liggins, the D-League Defensive Player of the Year, had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and a game-high six assists in the win, while former Tennessee star Jarnell Stokes took home MVP honors for his 25-point, 12-rebound performance.

“It’s everybody’s goal, to get to this point. And we’re here,” said Liggins in the game recap. “I’ve been around a great group of guys all year. I’m kind of sad that this [is] our last game, but I’m happy at the same time.”

Here’s hoping Liggins can find a spot on an NBA roster next season. Here are his highlights from last night’s win:

If he’s got his personal life in order, and consistently hits long-range shots like that along with playing the defense we all know he’s capable of, I don’t see how he doesn’t get another shot at the NBA. If not, he should go get paid more overseas.

I don’t get how he isn’t on an NBA roster right now. He has good size for his position, has won defensive player of the year the last two years in the d-league, and he is decently skilled offensively. Not saying he’s an all-star by any means, but I certainly think he’s good enough to be an average role player off the bench.

He beat the shit out of his girlfriend, no team wants that baggage unless he’s a superstar.
