It’s looking more and more like Kansas State big man Dean Wade will play tonight. Jon Rothstein is reporting Wade is expected to go, but will be limited in tonight’s game vs. Kentucky. Wade is Kansas State’s leading scorer, averaging 16.5 points, including 44% from beyond the arc, but missed the last three games with a stress fracture in his foot.
Beating Kansas State would be easier if Wade doesn’t play, but Kevin Knox told reporters yesterday he hopes Wade does so the purple Wildcats don’t have any excuses.
“We know he’s a really good player. He really knocks down the shot and really scores in the mid-range. But us not knowing if he’s going to play or not, we just really focusing on us. We don’t really care if he plays or not. We just want to go out and do what we defensively and offensively. Hopefully, he plays so they have no excuse, but we’re just going to go out and just play our best basketball.”
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s reaction after Knox said this was priceless:
Oh, they ready.
