After breaking UK legend Kyle Macy’s record for most assists in a debut game with 12, we all knew the spotlight would be on De’Aaron Fox following the game.

When asked about the record, he was impressed, but honestly had no idea how massive the feat actually was. In fact, he didn’t even know the guy who held the record in the first place.

Fox said, “I looked at the assist total, and I honestly didn’t even know. They told me I broke the record for debut assists, so it’s cool, it happened. But I just gotta move on to the next game. I read it was from like 1970-something. I don’t know who it was.”

Larry Vaught: “Kyle Macy, you ever heard of him?”

“No, I honestly haven’t… (laughs)”

Vaught: “He was pretty good, you should check out his numbers.”

Calipari needs to give this kid a history lesson.

That’s funny. I grew up an enormous U.K. fan; but when I was 18 (in 1982), i had never heard of Ralph beard or cotton mash lol.

Can’t blame the kid, Kyle Macy was before his time and it’s not like Macy stood out in the NBA.
