CSN Philly makes “The Case For Malik Monk As The Sixers’ First Round Pick”

Lots of the UK-related NBA draft talk is about whether or not Los Angeles should take De’Aaron Fox over Lonzo Ball with the second pick, but let’s not forget Malik Monk is in the conversation for the third overall pick.

Today, CSN Philly made the case for Philadelphia taking Monk with its third pick in the draft. The website wrote, “Hindsight will always be 20/20 when looking at this draft class down the line, but the choice is clear now if the Sixers vision includes adding a shooter… Draft Malik Monk.”

The write-up also says Philly needs “a knock-down, assassin-type shooter,” and no one on the board fits that description better than the former Kentucky shooting guard. He’s the only option to fill that need, as we all know well.

For more on why the Sixers should take Monk over everyone else at No. 3, give CSN Philly’s piece a read here.

And then hope we hear Monk’s name called third overall in the draft in a little over three weeks from today.

I would hate for him to end up in such a poisoned environment, but at the same time, they would be crazy not to pass on a player who arguably has more franchise-changing star potential than any other player in the draft.

U can’t teach Fox’s speed; u can teach a shot. Fox is a natural, true passing PG (like CP3) and can turn around my Lakers into playoff contender. Philly needs a shooter but Monk isn’t they’re long term fix

If Fox is taken over Ball, then Malik will not go 3rd. If Ball goes over Fox then Malik is for sure going three, in my mind.

Monk is the Michael Jordan of this draft. A few years from now, Owners will be kicking their GM’s asses if they pass him over for some over hyped player. Monk is a beast and will be a perennial all star.
