Coach Calipari Reminds BBN to Take A Breather

Remember last year, when some crazy fans said that Kentucky would go 40-0?  Well Coach Cal remembers, and he asked for all of us to “calm down”.  After BBN has been buzzing over all the returning Cats, Calipari took to Twitter to remind us that nothing is guaranteed.  He adds that it will take a lot of time, hard work, and being your brother’s keeper to achieve what we all want, number nine!  But most importantly, he wants us to enjoy the ride.

We’ve all had time to go crazy over what’s happened. Now, take a deep breath & calm down. We have a lot of work and a lot of blending to do.  We will benefit by the guys that stayed, but let’s remember what we said all along: These decisions were made with their best interests at heart. This was about doing what was best for them, which is why this whole thing works.  I was going to tell you to calm down Friday but I didn’t want to rain on your parade. I hate to rain on it now but this is still going to take the same ingredients that it always has: time, hard work, being their brother’s keeper and buying into the team.  Let’s keep that in mind, take a deep breath and remember to enjoy the ride again.

He’s right. We should calm down. Enjoy the summer. Play some golf. Enjoy WARM weather for a while. But we definitely have something to look forward to when it turns cold again.

That 40-0 crap was the product of the media!!! It was pushed so hard people started to believe it. UK will be good next year, but I do not think they will go undefeated.

I have not even gotten wound up about next year. No reason to at this point.

It was a product of KSR and sites like it. KSR lives off of false hope and hype. Matt gets you all wired up and foaming at the mouth so you keep checking his site, creating more ad revenue and money in his pocket. He peddles horseshit and BBN gobbles it up.

KSR would also be “media”, you moron.

I am still pretty fired up but yea, 40-0 stay away from it. Let’s just win one game at a time 🙂

Cal is right , but it is hard to not be OVERLY excited about next years team. I have seen a lot of big expectations for UK basketball in my 49 years, well from what I can remember from about the time I was 7, but we won and lost. I can’t wait till football then enjoy the basketball ride!!!!

I’m just enjoying. It’s all gravy, to me. No crazy expectations, no 40-0 bullshit….although Cal did start that talk…just happy with the upperclassmen, and really like the frosh.

You can try to sweep it under the rug, act like it’s not there, or even play dumb, but you’ll never be able to stop the hype, from one side of this country to the other until somebody beats this team. Until then, it will be ‘non stop’ headlines …everywhere. It’s the media that will be relentless! You thought last years pre-season hype was bad…HA! Just wait.

this team lost 9 games and couldnt blow out ANYONE even with young and randle!!! so who ever this next year will be any better has lost their mind.

Calipari will never put together a DOMINATING team like Pitino did in 96. Too many big egos, and money chasers flowing through lexington for that to happen.

2012 was pretty damn dominant.. Go back to pitino fantasy land. Just foolish.

Calm is no problem. Excited about next season will remain all summer long. Something to really look forward to. Not only will the team be good, but we have some beloved guys coming back that we get the pleasure of watching again. Never bought into the 40-0 last year nor the upcoming one. But it is exciting that we have the potential to make a deep run in the big dance. Takes a lot of talent, chemistry, and luck to win it all. That’s what makes college ball so fun. Enjoy your summer guys, and work on the @#*! free throws! My mind is on Cal and his upcoming surgery. Thinking of him and what he has to go through. Wish there was a way to send him “speedy recovery” cards; maybe send to Athletic Dept? Coach needs to feel the love too.
