Coach Cal threw out the first pitch on John Calipari Bobblehead Night

John Calipari threw out the ceremonial first pitch yesterday for the Florence Freedom to kick off John Calipari Bobblehead Night at UC Health Stadium. Cal spent some time talking to the fans (almost all wearing UK gear) about the upcoming UK season before everyone headed home with this little gem:

One of these little guys is going for $50.00 on eBay right now.

Only vaguely looks like Cal. The Bobblehead people need to step up their game.

never ceases to amaze me, at 1) just how dumb people are (ie- don’t know how to open google and type “UC Stadium” in) 2) just too lazy people are (ie- too lazy to type that “UC Stadium” into google), or 3) how much attention people need (ie- not about being too dumb or lazy, but wants some anonymous person on a comment board to respond to them to provide a little human interaction)

BECAUSE THAT TYPE OF RESPONSE FROM you is directly related to one of those 3 (or some odd combination)

It actually looks like a pretty good bobblehead for an independent team’s promotion. Some of those things can be pretty terrible.

I was lucky enough to score free tickets to a little meet n greet with Coach Cal during the game. I didn’t meet him or greet him, just listened to what he had to say. A couple of notes from the talk, he actually asked a guy to stop recording him during the talk. He did say he fully expects the NCAA to come after him for his stances against the NCAA. But he said “bring it on, we are clean”. He also made sure to tell everyone he doesn’t own a computer and has never looked at 1 comment when people reply to his tweets. Other than that mostly everything he said can be heard in a postgame interview or another interview. Seemed like a genuinely nice guy with a ton of energy that loves his players, staff etc.
