Coach Cal is showing Slice around town, still no word from UK

Barry Rohrssen has been in Lexington for a couple of days now but we’ve yet to hear anything official from the university regarding his hire. Today, Coach Cal took him to lunch to hang out with Joe B. Hall, Oscar Combs and the gang at Immanuel Baptist Church’s “The ROC,” per a tweet from Oscar. (Great food there, by the way.)

Surely we’ll hear something before the weekend because it’s clear Rohrssen is the guy to replace Antigua on the bench. Let’s get this finalized.

Had a buddy who incessantly pulled the redneck stereotypes out of his back pocket. Lived in Kentucky his whole life and never got laid, then professed his hatred for the entire commonwealth and used hackneyed generalizations to make himself feel better about his fruitless existence. Wanted to blame an entire state for his shortcomings. He wasn’t the most literate fellow either. Also one of the biggest Duke fans you’d ever come across.

speaking of evolution, when 20 year old rule per nba happens, We will get both “succeed and proceed ” and “two and true” (not 2 & through) as naysayers will say.

He’s a balding middle-aged white guy. No way he replaces Antigua or Strickland and the credibility they had with young ballers. They say he’s a “great” recruiter and then can’t point to a single player as proof of that.

I got a bad feelin’, kids.

Bravo! Kudos to you for knowing what the expert bloggers haven’t figured out. He can do exactly what you just said until he is hired.

Seems to me Cal tried to get Slice , Slice Baby to come here with him in the first year. If Cal believes, so do I

Barry Rohrssen is a big time recruiter! He was the recruiter fir Pitt years back when they were Guard loaded. When he left, Pitt slipped! Last year for his return, Pitt took out a full page “welcome back” newspaper ad. He has a pipe line up east and will be huge for UK! He is also great at developing Guards. Gonna be huge, or Cal wouldn’t choose him over everyone else.

By the way, Rohrssen is a Jerry Tarkanian (UNLV) guy. He started recruitung with them in the Early 90s. He recruited the class at Pitt that bought in Dujuan Blair and that crew. Wait and see!!

Do a little more research on him and you will find out that Pitt had better recruiting classes without him! I remember not so long ago we had the Greatest Recruiter of All Time — BILLY GILLISPIE!!!! And who still goes by their 8th grade NICKNAME ” Slice” really?

Has the Slice ever been part of any big-time program? If he has who was it, if not why not? Cal seems to know who to hire, but my confidence in practically an unknown to most UK fans until two weeks ago seems to be a red flag.

Red flag….? Really? Cause you are a big time recruiter and know so much about big time programs…LOL! What a joke!

Orlando Antigua joined Cal’s staff at Memphis after being an assistant for Pitt — the same freaking program as Rohrssen.

      What a red flag.

#53- don’t announce new assistant until all players have made their decisions public. Players first ya know!?

    Pittsburgh hasn’t had a top-20 recruiting class in the past 10 years…

How many assistant coaches have produced their own feature film and starred in a movie with Al Pacino and Jack Lemmon? Cal is bringing in some star power.
