Coach Cal Appears in TMZ

During his book tour, Coach Cal has promoted his book in dozens of interviews with the media.  From CNBC to Bill O’Reilly, Calipari was featured in pretty much every imaginable news source.  With a 2-minute clip from TMZ, I think it’s safe to say he’s now been in every imaginable news source.

In the short clip with the paparazzi, Cal answers two questions about his book.  The interview ends when Cal gets asked, “Are players going to stay more than a year?”  He did not appreciate the question.

Just like DanceBlue, Cal does it “For the Kids.”

I don’t think he minded the question. He’s only had to answer it a thousand times. He’s got it down pat by now.

As a long time fan, I have become resolute in the fact UK may never win another title with Cal (since we will always have a majority-freshman team every year). But he has certainly built something great. Cal is a master salesman and marketer. Just look at the president-elect and see what that type of grandiose self-promotion does for you. Cal is certainly not the egomaniac the Donald is, but he understands the game. Ultimately we all need to just enjoy the ride, because once its over…who ever Mitch gets to replace him will pale in comparison.

We may never win another because single elimination tournaments place an enormous emphasis on luck. Has nothing to do with freshmen. Or do you think Coach K will never win another either?

Calipari gives the guy the time and then he ask a dick question to end it. Guess that’s why he works for TMZ.
