Chris Mack was just introduced as Louisville’s new head coach and, inevitably, asked his thoughts on the Kentucky/Louisville rivalry. How ready is he for one of the most heated rivalries in all of sports?
“I can’t wait,” Mack said. “There’s something about those type of games that get your juices flowing.”
Hilariously, Mack already ruffled some Louisville fans’ feathers when he arrived at the Yum Center in a blue shirt. Oh, the horror!

Cards fans were so upset someone photoshopped the shirt red:

All in all, Mack came off as an incredibly likable dude, which could make the post-Pitino era of the rivalry a little awkward for this here website. So far, the only thing I can make fun of Mack for is that he seems to be a massive Kid Rock fan, but who doesn’t enjoy a little “Bawitdaba” on occasion?
Alas, Mack said he’s looking forward to coaching in the rivalry instead of watching it from his in-laws’ house in Shepherdsville over Christmas break like he has in the past.
“I’m not naive enough to think the UK/Louisville game isn’t one the best in the entire country,” Mack added. “Our season won’t be one game, but you can sure as bet we’ll be ready to go next year at The Yum.”
“You can sure as bet that we’ll be ready to go.”
