Big Blue Nation shines the spotlight on every player, yet few people know how good Matthews can be for the No. 2 Wildcats this season. The 6-foot-6 product from Chicago was once a top-20 prospect but slid down recruiting rankings as injuries hampered his high school career. Matthews has the potential to be a lockdown perimeter defender. So while Skal Labissiere, Jamal Murray and Isaiah Briscoe garner most of the national attention, keep an eye on Matthews this season as he continues to grow into his role for coach John Calipari.
