Cats overpower the Friars, win 58-38

It certainly wasn’t pretty, but we’ll take it. Providence did everything they could to slow down the Cats, but in the end, UK’s defense was too much. Despite sloppy shooting, UK wore the Friars out in the second half, winning 58-38.

Willie Cauley-Stein and Karl Towns led all scorers with 11 points and Tyler Ulis was the star on defense, coming in and giving the Cats the spark they so desperately needed.

More throughout the day…

That was a good Providence team that Kentucky made look like poop in the second half. They played the perfect way to beat Kentucky too. Would have been worse if Kentucky had made some shots in the first half.

We played pretty poorly on offense but a win is a win

“UK wore the Friars out after the game”…Mrs. Tyler, THAT was funny. I think we will see this quite a few times this year. Teams that want to essentially play 4 corners and hope we don’t shoot it well. I’ll taking playing below average and still getting a 20 pt win against a quality opponent.
