One of the hot topics around Kentucky basketball at the moment is the Cats’ inability to shoot the basketball. That conversation came up today during Coach Cal’s pre-Arizona State press conference, and Cal said it is not his team’s biggest problem right now.
He believes that if his team were shooting the ball well, they would be scoring more points and fans would be blind to the struggles in other areas.
“You wouldn’t see the issue we have which is physical play, which is grit, which is fight. That is our issue,” he said. “And you know what? By shooting poorly, it kind of says, ‘Wait a minute. He’s not just saying it. We can see it.'”
Cal isn’t too worried about the cold shooting at this point in the season. He knows they can do it and eventually will.
“We have good shooters not making shots right now. They’re making ’em in practice. My concern is not that.
