Calipari to meet with Briscoe alone to start the summer

calipari-briscoe

During his brief and hurried appearance on this afternoon’s The Paul Finebaum Show, John Calipari told Finebaum he will meet with Isaiah Briscoe privately before the rest of the team meets for the first time this summer.

The reason? To make sure they each do what needs to be done to make Briscoe the NBA player he came back to school to become.

“He and I are going to have a great meeting the day everyone else comes back to put a great plan together,” Cal said on the show.  “Because it’s not only on him now, it’s on me now. We gotta do this together. Failure is not an option in this case. When you come back, this has gotta work and this has got to work for these reasons.”

That conversation will also include how Briscoe will lead the new team. Cal will start another three, maybe four, freshmen and Briscoe will be their veteran leader on the floor.

So glad he came back.

Man if he is not shooting it then he needs to sit, please do not let this be another HARRISON twin situation. Honestly I like the Fox, Monk, Wenyen, Willis, and Bam lineup the best. Perfect combination of shooting, rebounding and shot blocking. He has to be a threat out there on the perimeter.

The Harrisons were here two years; and we advanced to two final fours….that’s not a record; but, it’s a damn good average.
News flash: Briscoe is going to start.

Hopefully, he’ll find his shot this summer and become the veteran leader this team needs…
