Calipari says this is the one of the nicest groups he’s ever coached

@KentuckyMBB

John Calipari, Tyler Ulis, and Marcus Lee are making the rounds at SEC Tipoff ’16, and Cal just say down with the folks behind the @SEC Twitter account. Here are some highlights:

  • On his team: “They are inexperienced and still trying to find themselves. This is one of the nicest groups I’ve ever coached.”
  • On SEC Basketball: “It’s moving in the direction it needs to go. That started with the commitment from Commissioner’s office.”
  • On UK’s non-conference schedule: “I probably threw too much at them, but that’s okay. This is about March.”
  • On UK fans: “They’re passionate, they’re knowledgeable, they want every piece of information they can get about every player.”

No “Those people are crazy”?? I’m stunned.

    I’m really proud of the teams Cal has put together. We never have to worry about all the perverse sickening nonsense happening at UL.

    I like that these are good kids and nice, but who is doing to be the ones who can get mean when they have to? Ulis has shown he can, but who else? There will likely be somebody, but finding out who is a key part of the team forming its identity. Except for the Harrow team, every other Cal team eventually figures this out.

      My money is on Briscoe and Matthews for having toughness (besides Ulis obviously). I am also hoping to see Alex get mean and dominate.
