Calipari responds to new NBA rumors

John Calipari has issued his response to Adrian Wojnarowski’s report that he is seeking $120 million from the NBA.

“You may have heard me say this before: I absolutely have the best coaching job in sports and I plan on being at Kentucky for a long time,” he tweeted. “I am not negotiating with ANYBODY. My total focus is on this team and winning the next game.”

Cal will hold a press conference later today to preview his team’s upcoming game with Mississippi State. You can expect the NBA to be a hot topic in that conversation.

    And that is that.

I personally thought the only way the “Cal-interested-in-the-Nets” rumor could be true would be if his mind was going, so it’s good to see that Cal is still in his right mind.

Of course if you want to read between the lines…He said that he personally was not negotiating with anybody…that doesn’t mean someone is not negotiating on his behalf….

Exactly. Just like Colin Cowherd and Gary Parrish have said about coaches in the past, they leave the agent to do the talking/negotiating behind doors, and when the coach is asked if he has been talking to anyone he can say no. But I believe Cal, and trust that his heart lies with BBN
