Calipari mocked Michael Bennett’s bench scoring question

John Calipari got a little dig in on our good friend Michael Bennett (Matt’s best friend) in his postgame comments down in Nashville.

Cal said, “I was really surprised nobody asked me about our bench scoring. We scored 30 and they scored six. Where was that question? I thought it would be the first one.”

He didn’t call Michael by name, but it’s clearly a reference to Michael’s poorly-timed question last Saturday in Cal’s post-Kansas press conference. Bennett opened that press conference by asking, “What do you do about the bench and the lack of scoring?”

Baffled by the opening question immediately after a huge victory, Cal asked, “Did we just win?”

He then brought it back up again in Nashville, three days later. Unfortunately Michael didn’t make the trip to Nashville to respond.
