Calipari insists this win isn’t different than any other (YEAH YEAH, HUSH CAL)

What would a good Calipari postgame press conference be without a little banter between Cal and Jerry Tipton? Jerry asked Calipari if he was worried his players would get “carried away” by beating Duke, to which Calipari stopped him to say this game was no different than any other.

“Why would you think our guys would even think this is different than any game we play?,” Cal said. “This is one game. If we lose to Wright State, you people in Kentucky will think I should be fired. You’re really happy with me today. ‘Cal is the best, he’s unbelievable.’ We lose to Wright State: ‘The game has passed him by. He’s too old.'”

“We’re not — this thing at Kentucky is a different deal. It’s nice to win, we’ll enjoy this on the plane ride home and then we’re gonna getting ready for Wright State. We did not approach this game any differently than we did NJIT. If you ask the guys, they’ll tell you. It was the exact same preparation.”

In that case, here’s a live look at the team plane:

They didn’t prepare differently, they were just a little more intense. This team’s best ball is ahead. To be fair Dook will get better too. Couldn’t be happier with our effort and the way Cal has the young guys going (Skal will figure it out, he’s the one I was and am least worried about).

Ha, Cal is now and forever will be one of the best; if not THE best “Showmans” in the Sport. No One has a knack for delivering HUGE news in a manner that You’d think You’re reading from Your local Town’s advertiser.

And Yeah ^^ @ukcamel, I believe Skal will be just fine. This Game I believe helped Him a lot, having to bang bodies with Jefferson and the newest Plumlee clone.

So there were strippers on the plane? At least we use then to award our players and not to bribe potential ones!

Pretty obvious that we’re much better than Duke. Of course they’ll get better but so will we. Our guards forced Allen to play panicked and out of control. Other than the fouls the bigs played well and it was great to see Isaac Humphries play good minutes. We boxed out poorly in the first half and Duke got a career night from their most unlikely starter, yet we still cruised to a win. I’ll take it.
