Going to St. Louis and looking for a good place to eat? John Calipari has a recommendation for you. Calipari wrapped up his time on the SEC Coaches Teleconference today by making sure his favorite St. Louis eatery, Cunetto’s House of Pasta, is still open.
“Is Cunetto’s still open up on The Hill, by the way?” Calipari asked reporters, who confirmed that yes, it is.
“I can find it, huh? You know I’m gonna find it. I’ll be up there Wednesday night, Thursday night, and well, maybe Friday night. Maybe not Friday night. But Friday night.”
As we mentioned earlier, tickets are still available for the tournament, which suggests a smaller crowd than in years past, but Calipari insisted that St. Louis is a great host city, especially since it has all the pasta he could dream of.
“St. Louis is a great city, plus they’ve got The Hill for us Italians. We can go up there and shop and eat and do all of that. If you’re Italian you know. You’re like hyped that we’re going.”
What St. Louis doesn’t have is a Dunkin Donuts within walking distance of the hotel and arena, which upsets one John Vincent Calipari, who can’t function without an extra large cup of DD coffee in the morning.
“Do they have a Dunkin’ Donuts downtown by the way? Because I had to drive. The church was right there. I was fine there on Saint Louis’ campus. But, the Dunkin’ Donuts I had to drive. Do they have anything downtown? If not we need the Dunkin’ Donuts to move downtown at least for this week.”
I think the SEC can arrange that for Calipari. For more St. Louis restaurant recommendations, check out our guest post from Joe Cassin from last week:
