The WVU transfer arrived in Lexington on Monday as ESPN’s top-ranked transfer player in college basketball, and will join the team in practice for the remainder of this current season once he clears all of the necessary obstacles.
“He’s not on the court with us yet,” Calipari told his call-in show listeners in an update on his new player Thursday night. “He has to go through all of the testing and all of the medical stuff, but he’s in there everyday and he said, ‘Coach, I can’t wait to join the team.'”
“He knows his job this year is, how do I help this team, what do I do to bring something out of this group, to let them battle against him. We just have to get him on the court to help us.”
Calipari said he wrapped his arms around the 260-poind Tshiebwe and thought, “whoa, this kid is thrown together.”
Olivier Sarr, Isaiah Jackson and Lance Ware will see how thrown together Tshiebwe really is when he starts beating them up in practice in the very near future.

Good! Toughen these sissies up! It’s F’n embarrassing watching their jewels crawl up inside their bellies when it’s crunch time.
We have a bunch of softies maybe something will rub off.
He looks like he is 40 years old lol
I was thinking the same thing. Reminds me of Greg Oden. Oden looked 40 in college.
He and Ware are solid inside pieces for next year . They could honestly be really good with a lot of backcourt improvement. Skyy Clark would be nice on next yrs team , and certainly Askew can only improve at 17. Allen is a shooter if he’s back . I’m heating Mintz could possible be asked back
Please not Askew. As long as he is our point guard we will never be good.
Is he allowed to travel with the team this year?
