Calipari congratulated Rick and the Cards on the win

pitino-calipari

Unlike another head coach we know, who also coached in this game, John Calipari fulfilled his postgame duties after a loss by going to the podium to discuss what went wrong. Nick will have more from Cal’s assessment of the game here in a sec, but I’ll pass along Calipari’s parting words at the press conference before he left for Christmas vacation:

“Congratulations to Louisville and Rick. Great game. Great job. Great environment. It was great.”

With the win, Pitino narrows the gap in the rivalry to 2-8 and is six consecutive wins away from .500.

Frustrating loss but Cal at 2 losses and us fans are sitting in a better place tonight than Coack K after his 11pt win over umm… who was it… oh yeah the team that had another player tripped by Allen. So yes… this hurts but we are ok

That kick/trip was rediculos. Three fouls in two years like that? He should be out of the NCAA. That one was so obvious.

Lucky for Allen and Duke they’re in the ACC where everything goes unpunished or a $25,000 slap on the wrist. Loved the rant at halftime by former Duke player Jay Williams calling K out and saying he should show some class and take the responsibility to suspend him. Former Dukie Jay Bilas was also very critical.

We couldn’t buy a basket most of the night, Louisville played a good game, I wish we would have tried to work the ball inside more. But who was the ref with the dark slicked back hair that seemed to always be in louisvilles huddle, and I could swear near the end of the game said “don’t worry, don’t worry” to them near the end of game? Never saw any other ref addressing any player, blue or red but him during the game.

Let’s everyone in KY be happy. At least we don’t have a player like Grayson Allen. I’m glad Greenberg dropped some truth bombs on the situation.

Yeah, Cal’s gonna teach his underclassmen to not choke at the free throw line…

UofL, the 5th rated defense in the country, played out of their minds, at home in front of a bunch of hostile loserville tard fans.

UK shot poorly from three and from the line, were outrebounded, and made freshmen mistakes……..

…….. and Louisville only won by three. LMAO

UK will be just fine. 😉

I thought I wanted to talk smack, but that’s not my normal style. I will say for those who wanted uk to go inside, “that” was my primary beef with UofL tonight. How many times did the 7 footer get the ball in the paint? 0 is the answer. I’ll take the win and hope we(he) learns from this. (he) is the coach in case you missed it.

Cards can’t play any better than they did in this game, Cats on the other hand have a high ceiling. All UK had to do to win was hit their free throws, or if only Bam hit his the result is reversed.

Pitino is a good coach, who pays prostitutes as a recruiting tool. Jurich hires questionable coaches, , condones abuse of women, and is a win at all cost loser. Can’t win them all. We’ll, almost. I sleep knowing the players and coaches I support don’t have whores on speed dial.

Classic sour grapes approach. I think UK has better players & will improve much more over the season than UL. But tonight, we played relatively badly & UL played a tad better. So congrats to UL and hope you don’t meet UK in the tourney!

Poor rebounding mixed with piss poor free throws equals disasters. The officiating was just as bad as Derek Willis from the line tonight, on both ends of the floor. They missed 2 goal tending calls (one on each team). Foul call on Briscoe when he wasn’t feet within the offensive player. Fouls on the UofL center who boxed out and grabbed solid rebounds. Even if UK won it wouldn’t have been worth watching IMO. NCAA needs to take a long look at refs for football and basketball. It’s time for an overhaul and it starts with Emmert. UK will be fine from this loss. Not the end of the world. But if officiating doesn’t get better the game won’t be worth watching anymore.
