Cunningham could have spurned the folks in Stillwater after the NCAA placed a postseason ban on the program. Even without the opportunity to play in the NCAA Tournament, Cunningham is remaining loyal to Mike Boynton’s program.
The decision to stay at Oklahoma State is somewhat of a shock. He could have played professionally or attended the school that finished second in his recruiting sweepstakes, Kentucky. Ultimately, playing for his brother Cannen, an assistant on Boynton’s staff, was an opportunity he could not pass up as the Cowboys fight the NCAA’s postseason penalty.
