BREAKING: 2021 four-star guard Nolan Hickman commits to Kentucky

Kentucky has picked up its first basketball commitment for the class of 2021.

Nolan Hickman – a four-star guard in the rising senior class – announced his commitment to UK today, choosing the Wildcats over offers from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arizona, UCLA and Washington, among others.

Rumors began circulating late Friday evening that a commitment was in the works, with three consecutive FutureCast picks coming in favor of the Wildcats over at Rivals.com, led by Corey Evans flipping his prediction from Kansas.

A new name to those that follow Kentucky basketball recruiting, Hickman is a 6-2 point guard from Mt. Pleasant, Utah. The rankings vary wildly; he’s the thirteenth-ranked point guard and No. 76 player overall according to Rivals, compared to 247 Sports who ranks Hickman as the third-best point guard and No. 30 player overall.

A crafty ball-handler, in his high school junior season Hickman averaged 17.3 points, 3.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 38 percent from behind the three-point line.

Looks like those guards we face that always beat us on the bounce. From this mixtape, craftiness with the handles and speed with vision is perfect for our DDO. welcome to bbn Nolan

His tape looks better than Chandler to me…better size with a similar skill set. Hard to argue with this get even with the disappointment of Banchero.

Are you insinuating that he’s a better player than Hagans (SEC DPOY), Quickley (SEC POY) or Maxey (Future 1st round pick)? Just wondering.
