Booker never doubted Hawkins’ hops

Devin Booker admitted his pass to Dominique Hawkins was a little high when he let it go. But, he’s seen Dominique dunk before, so he had very little doubt Hawkins would find a way to go up and get it. And he got it alright. Hawkins took it over the top of a Boston defender and threw it down with two hands, and should’ve gotten a foul call.

When asked about the decision to throw it up to the six-footer, Booker said that’s the way Cal drew it up so that’s what they ran.

Hawkins, on the other hand, wonders why everyone is so shocked by the play. “I feel like I’m the best dunker on the team,” he said with a smile.

I’m not doubting him, not after seeing that.

Alright folks, lets face it, when your 11th or 12th man makes the highlight reel because your coach draws up a play for that 11th or 12th man for an ally oop dunk then you are pretty damn good. As a matter of fact you are ridiculously good. That’s fun of being a member of the BBN with Cal on the sideline. For this to be a dynasty is a matter of having 2 or 3 of these guys to keep coming back for a soph year or occasional junior year like WCS and AP did. We could win it a LOT if this happens. Imagine if Wall, Cousins, or Bledsoe had stayed for the next year. We go to the final four without them if just one of them were there, we win. Then AD, MKG, T.Jones, Lamb, Teague or one of those guys stays, or Nerlens, we win again. Then there is this year………. If a couple of these guys stay, it’s on for next year. It could be a dynasty.

E.J Floreal hasn’t shown it in a game yet, but he can routinely put Hawkins to shame with his dunking ability.

Here’s what’s even more impressive. he didn’t get a running start. It was basically a one step then jump dunk. He’s got to have an incredible vertical to be able to do that. Is there any player on this team not having fun?
