BBN Jam Elite Eight: (1996) Walker & Anderson vs. (1995) Delk & McCarty

It’s fitting that no matter what happens in the Untouchables Regional Final, two players from Rick Pitino’s 1996 National Championship team will make the Final Four of KSR’s BBN Jam Tournament.

The 1996 Kentucky team was absolutely loaded. Pitino went 10-deep to keep fresh legs on the court to apply fullcourt defensive pressure. Picking just two players to represent the squad was difficult, but it had to be done. When the dust settled Anderson and Walker were the 96 team’s representatives, while Delk and McCarty appeared as juniors on the 95 squad whose season ended against North Carolina in the Elite Eight.

TALE OF THE TAPE

The four players in this matchup were the top four scorers on the 1996 team. I should try to convince to imagine Delk and McCarty as juniors, but let’s face it, that’s not going to happen when you hit the polls. You will recall Delk’s All-American campaign from his senior season and favor McCarty’s length and three-point shooting ability over Walker’s physicality.

Either way, you can’t go wrong when deciding which players will represent the Untouchables Region in KSR’s BBN Jam Tournament.

This is unbelievably close in my opinion. Especially if Delk and McCarty are juniors. I think if they played 10 times each group would win 5.
