Antigua, Towns, and Vargus Heading To The World Cup

For the first time in 35 years the Dominican Republic will be heading to the FIBA World Cup. Coach O and his team finished the second stage of group play with the record of 4-0 after they took down Uruguay this afternoon 78-68.¬† The DR will be in action again Tuesday as they continue in the Americas tournament which is now down to the semi-finals. By reaching that stage the team automatically advances to next year’s World Cup which is held in Spain. Vargas continuing his hot summer finished with 13 points and 7 boards in today’s game.

Congrats to Coach O and our adopted second favorite national team  for the big win and advancement to the World cup!

No TV for alumni game, per Cal.
I was there last year, fun to see the guys,
    but not a real game.
