Andy Katz names Tyler Ulis his Player of the Week

Mark Zerof | USA Today

In what I have a feeling will be the first of many accolades today, Andy Katz named Tyler Ulis his Player of the Week over at ESPN. Ulis has 27 points, 12 assists, 2 steals, and 1 turnover at South Carolina after putting up 14 point and 8 assists vs. Georgia. With Ulis playing like he is, the Cats are playing their best basketball of the season.

“What a performance at South Carolina for Kentucky,” Katz says. “Clearly now, Kentucky looks like the team to beat in the SEC yet again. They’ve got a big game coming up against Texas A&M on the road, but A&M heading in the wrong direction.”

Are SEC Player of the Week honors next? We’ll find out a little later today.

It could have easily been the Kentucky backcourt:

Murray had a week that would be hard to match as well.

Congrats to Tylis Uler and well earned!!

I think the new rule change that eliminates the 5 second count on the dribble has really enabled Tyler to control the game even more now!
