Andrew Harrison is leading this team the right way

Matt McCarty, 247Sports

After almost every game this season , John Calipari has given nothing but praise to the  play of Andrew Harrison and how much improved he is over last year. Well, the stats dont lie. Here are his numbers for the year:

  • 2.7- 5.5 FGM-FGA
  • .485 FG%
  • .417 3P%
  • .75 FT%
  • 2.3 REB
  • 3.3 AST
  • 1.0 STL
  • 1.5 TO
  • 8.7 PTS

Whats really impressed me with Andrew so far this season is his shot selection. He isn’t forcing shots and looking for his teammates first. Even though it is early in the season, his FG% as well as his 3P% are on the rise on fewer shot attempts.

Something he can look to improve on going foward is driving to the basket and drawing fouls, especially Friday agaisnt Texas. The most free throws he has attempted in a game this year is 4. Getting the Texas bigs into foul trouble early with help Kentucky’s changes if they are to get a win. I belive Andrew can average between 6-8 foul shots per game moving foward.

If Andrew plays like he is playing consitantly for the entire year, the sky is the limit for this team.
