All four UK signees dropped in final Rivals150 rankings

(Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports)

(Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports) released its final basketball rankings for the Class of 2019 and each of the four members in Kentucky’s signing class saw a drop in their place on the list.

Tyrese Maxey, Kentucky’s only top 10 player, fell one place to No. 10 in the final update. Maxey dropped to the third-ranked point guard in the class, behind only Cole Anthony of North Carolina and the undecided RJ Hampton. Hampton, a Kentucky target and a friend of Maxey, reclassified last week and debuted ahead of Maxey in the rankings.

The newest signee in UK’s class, Kahlil Whitney, fell out of the top 10 in the final update. Still the top-ranked small forward among his peers, Whitney slid six places from No. 8 to No. 14.

Keion Brooks, UK’s only other five-star prospect, is still the fifth-ranked small forward in 2019; however, he moved down one spot to No. 28 in the Rivals150’s last class ranking.

Then there is Dontaie Allen, the in-state star from nearby Pendleton County, a four-star talent in the Rivals150. Allen saw the biggest decline of the Wildcats, falling from No. 55 to No. 67 in the class. Allen missed most of his senior season with a torn ACL he suffered back in December, so his drop in the class rankings was expected due to his time away from basketball.

Other notable prospects include current targets RJ Hampton, the sixth-ranked player in the class; Jaden McDaniels, the seventh-ranked player and No. 1 power forward; and small forward Johnny Juzang at No. 34.

Check out the before and after of the top 10 players in the final Rivals150:

Not big on conspiracies but the NCAA had to make sure Duke or at minimum Memphis ends up with the #1 class because the Count Ketchup can’t have Kentucky there.

Maybe not a conspiracy but you can go all the way back to Brandon Knight. Players that commit to Kentucky often drop in the rankings after their announcement….and players that commit to some other schools get a bump…just sayin’.

You guys are being a bit tin-foil. What’s funny is Duke writers actually put out an article about how they are 1/100th of a point behind Arizona now in the final class rankings (making them number 2). The synopsis being: “do you really think that was an accident? They just hate Duke!”. LOL. Don’t be like Duke.

Well, they will look rather foolish, won’t they?
Vernon Carey dropped from 1 to 5? What did he do, break both his legs?

Some bean counter out there should do the analysis. UK recruits commonly drop in the rankings once they commit.

Rivals, some may remember, ranked Austin Rivers over Anthony Davis.
