After 30 years, Kentucky’s three-point streak has officially died

Kentucky may have advanced in the NCAA Tournament, but their 30-year three-point streak has officially died.

The Cats finished the day 0-6 from three, marking the first time in 1047 games they failed to hit a shot from beyond the arc.

The last time Kentucky failed to make a three-pointer was on November 26, 1988 against Seton Hall in the Great Alaskan Shootout.

Here’s one fan who only cares about the W, which they got (against a very good 12 seed)

    Survive….Advance

    GO BIG BLUE

I liked it as a fun little tidbit of trivia, but it was really a pretty useless stat. We knew this team might struggle with that streak. As long as we got the W. Survive and advance!

Good. Now people can quit worrying about a useless stat.

I’m for one glad it’s dead. I’m tired of hearing about it everytime we are playing bad like it matters more than the win.

Tired hearing about it let’s teach them to follow their shot and crash the board when someone else shoots!

I’m sad to see it go, but the win is better than a streak, so bye.

Yay. Tired of hearing about it. Happy for it to die during an important win.

Maybe next time we should get in a three-point shooting contest with a team of shooting white guys instead of pounding the ball in the post where we scoring at will. (Sarcasm off)

I’m glad it ended in a win Saturday we can start a new one

This team ended a lot of streaks this year and set a few not so good firsts, but that’s what happens when you liar your top 7 scorers. Glad they won. That was a tough opener and they gutted it out.

Don’t care. They played to win the game, not keep a 3-point streak alive. I’m glad it happened in a NCAA game hat we won. Nothing to complain about. Most that will complain about the streak ending are probably upset they won the SEC tournament and didn’t have a loss to complain about last weekend.

1047 games in a row making 3 point shots. It is a pretty big deal. Remember, the last time without a 3 was before Pitino.
I’m not crying about the streak being over, just celebrating that it was accomplished.
The win is more important today.

Davidson played to take those 3’s away from us they stayed with their man when we drove the ball to take away open shots, but like everyone else on here it’s a useless stat that has no bearing in a game unless of coarse you make one when down two to win a game. I’m just happy we was able to beat a heck of a team my hats off to them players and coaching staff. Its almost unheard of winning a basketball game and not make any 3’s.

We still have a regular season streak though lol

I am just glad they realized they were not hitting them and drove in. Earlier in the season they would have kept chucking from outside and probably would have lost. F the streak, glad for the W.

How am I the only person that cares about this? And how is Wenyen Gabriel not obligated to take at least 4 3’s a game!?!
