We still don’t have an exact date or time for Jaden McDaniels’ commitment announcement, but we’re now that much closer to some answers. Basketball insider Adam Zagoria got ahold of McDaniels’ high school basketball coach, who said they just need a bit more time.

Jaden and I will be discussing his decision when I get back this week,” Coach Yattah Reed told Zagoria.

Reed has apparently been out of the area for the last week, explaining why they still need more time after a recruiting period that feels like it’s lasted an eternity. Zagoria posted the news in a tweet, followed by a subsequent blog post on his personal recruiting site, Zagsblog.

The five-star small forward is still between Washington and Kentucky, with more experts beginning to switch their picks to the Huskies.

After getting the quote from McDaniels’ coach, Zagoria quickly joined 24/7 Sports’ Evan Daniels and a hand full of other recruiting experts in picking Washington as his college destination.

Sit back and relax, BBN, because it looks like we’ve got a few more days to go in this saga. However, it’s looking more and more like the Washington Huskies have this one in the bag.

4ever … you don’t have to “read” this to be overwhelmed by the number of headlines on this about McDaniels. It is more than a bit much.

What is giving these people any inclination as to where he’s going if he hasn’t made any statements himself? Why would he put his hometown on hold if that’s where he’s going?

More money. UK bids, Wash goes higher. UK bids again, Wash goes higher. Might as well wait until the final bids come in. Also maybe the HS coach is trying to get a job on staff or at the University out of it. Recruiting is such a dirty business, and that is what it is A BUSINESS. And for a guy that is supposed to hate attention all this delay just draws more and more attention.

Your hatred for Cal does nothing more than expose you for the idiot that you are. Don’t take that as named calling mashbum, you are what you are.

Mashburnfan1 is a troll. Kentucky doesn’t bid. Our offer is to make you a better player, person and pro…

Exactly Max! If Cal or any UK rep offered McDaniels a breath mint we would get the death penalty. Mashbum’s comments are based on an ongoing fantasy that Cal is dirty, he’s praying he’s right. What a sad pathetic little man he is.

What is interesting is that a month ago he was an afterthought…we all assumed it would be Washington then. Then some guy tweets something cryptic and BBN and National Media all get to thinking it was U.K…now it is back to Washington….publicity stunt? Click bait? Both?

So does that mean we won’t have a ton of posts about him during that time?

Honestly all the talk about this young man not liking the limelight and drama seems very far fetched after the last few weeks. I honestly don’t know how Cal just doesn’t tell him good lucky at Washington playing on an average team or less than next season and move on. He is a very good player but no AD or Zion.
