Aaron Harrison joining Wizards summer league team

Another former Cat is headed to Las Vegas. According to NBC Sports Washington, Aaron Harrison has landed a spot on the Wizards’ summer league team, which will compete in Vegas July 6-17.
Harrison played nine games for the Dallas Mavericks last season, averaging 6.7 points and 1.2 assists. Before that, he was with the Charlotte Hornets and rotated through G-League squads. Washington is set to start their own G-League team, the Capital City Go-Go, this fall, so they’ll have plenty of roster spots to fill, as well as one two-way contract spot.
The news comes at a good time for Aaron. The final roster for the USA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Team was announced this afternoon and he didn’t make the cut. But, he did get to reunite with former teammate Eloy Vargas, who’s playing for the Dominican Republic:

Other former Cats participating in the Summer League:
- Archie Goodwin, Portland Trail Blazers
- Kyle Wiltjer, Portland Trail Blazers
- Wenyen Gabriel, Sacramento Kings
- Derek Willis, New Orleans Pelicans
- Kevin Knox, New York Knicks
- Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Los Angeles Clippers
Because of the terms of his trade, Hamidou Diallo can’t join the Oklahoma City Thunder until July 6, so it’s not clear whether or not he’ll be able to play in the summer league.

Glad to see Eloy and Aaron still at it – especially the former.
Pretty sure Harrison and Vargas are not “former teammates,” unless they played together somewhere other than UK. Vargas’s last year was the 2011-12 title year and AH didn’t come until 2013-14.
