Silver lining: teams can rally around an injured or missing team mate a la Kevin Ware 2013. Nonetheless I’d enjoy an OK season if Alex could be healthy throughout. Really hate this for a great kid.
Alex could come back better after he rehabs the knee, and if he decides to come back to UK for his senior year he could work on his outside shooting and actually improve his draft stock. Next year he would undoubtedly be one of the go-to players on the floor.
Also, Derek Willis will now get his opportunity to show everyone what he can do on the big stage. No fear, Derek!
That sucked. Alex is such a great dude. I hope the team rallies and gets Alex a championship in case he decides to move on after this year. He will have his degree this year and the sky is the limit.
Really hate to see this. What a horrible start to the day.
Prayers go out to Alex and the team. There isn’t much worse that could happen to an athlete besides a knee injury. Hopefully he comes back stronger next year.
That being said, I don’t think Alex’s injury will result in the worst case scenario (Nerlens). But, if we make it all the way to the title game and lose again, that will be three years (that I can remember) where we lost a title game with an injured starter on the bench. I don’t think I could take that again. Now we have to win it all… right? RIGHT?

Man, this really bums me out…
This is sad. Let’s hope another year with Cal will improve his NBA chances.
^^Get this fukcing troll idiot out of here!!!!^^
UK Big you misunderstood me. If he improves his three point shot his draft stock will go up.

A couple other possible silver linings:

Best of luck to Alex and to what ever path he chooses from here.
