A Shocking New Addition to The Bluegrass Boys

USA Today

USA Today

It was a nice surprise to see Shagari Alleyne added to The Bluegrass Boys last night.  This surprise is much more shocking.

Former Louisville forward Chane Bahanan will join the team of former Kentucky Wildcats.  The Bowling Green High School graduate almost chose UK, but opted to play for Rick Pitino instead.

Bahanan was a controversial figure during his time at UofL, to say the least.  The National Champion had plenty of off the court issues.  He was suspended after the Cards won the title in 2013, only to have the suspension lifted just before playing Kentucky.  He played 20 minutes and scored zero points in a loss at Rupp Arena.  Just a few days later he was dismissed from UofL.

Now he’ll be playing with some former Cats.  Marquis Teague is the only one he actually played against, falling to Teague’s team in the 2012 Final Four.

Even though you might be upset by the move, you should still VOTE for The Bluegrass Boys.  Hurry, the deadline is at noon.

So I guess they hired a call girl to get Chane to join?

Seriously though, I wonder if Louisville fans will look at him as a traitor now that he’s going to join up with a UK-centric team?

Why? If you’re going to add a UofL guy, at least make it a good citizen. I’m sure a couple of them exist somewhere.

I don’t like the addition, but at least he’s a Kentuckian.

Could Shagari ever play? He transferred from a Tubby Smith team, after all.

My guess is that they were desperate to get a 7th player so they could be eligible before today’s deadline.

Need DLAMB. If they are wanting UK players or Kentucky born kids, how about Darius Miller, Scotty Hopson, How about Orton or Randolph Morris? Where the F is Jorts. I’m sure these guys would be happy to leave their 3rd world country teams for a chance to win some good cash back home

I guess they don’t plan on drug testing.

I hope I’m wrong, but this roster is setting up Kentucky basketball on a tee. We’ll get put out very early.

Not to be negative but this team as contructed has no shot to win that 2 mil. Last year there were a lot of strong teams in that tournament that have been playing together for a while and they played for one million with 2 million up this year and the increasing popularity of the tournament you know teams will be even more stacked this time.

This team would have a hard time beating an AAU team.

Honestly—the Kansas State, Syracuse, and Memphis Alumni teams look to be better.
