5 Louisville players and recruits confirm stripper parties/prostitution to ESPN

Screen Shot 2015-10-20 at 7.00.56 AM

And we’re off! Katina Powell’s media tour begins today, and ESPN’s Jeff Goodman is getting things off with a bang, reporting that five former Louisville players and recruits have confirmed that they attended parties that included strippers at Minardi Hall, one of them confirming they had sex with a dancer after Louisville basketball staffer Andre McGee paid her:

One of the former players said he had sex with a dancer after McGee paid her. Each of the players and recruits attended different parties at Billy Minardi Hall, where dancers, many of whom stripped naked, were present. Three of the five players said they attended parties as recruits and also when they played for Louisville.

Said one of the recruits who ultimately signed to play elsewhere: “I knew they weren’t college girls. It was crazy. It was like I was in a strip club.”

Powell told “Outside the Lines” that McGee supplied the money for the dancers and for “side deals,” aka sex with recruits, their guardians, and Louisville players. Powell’s daughters were also interviewed. Lindsay Powell said she had sex with Russ Smith for money, while Rod-Ni Powell said she had sex with Montrezl Harrell for “maybe $100, maybe a little more.”

“I couldn’t make this up if I wanted to,” Powell told Outside the Lines. “I have no reason, or have the need, to lie on anyone. Everything I’m saying is 100 percent the truth.”

Wow. The most damning parts for Louisville? ESPN independently confirmed that text messages sent to Powell to arrange the parties came from McGee’s cellphone, and a wire transfer of money from McGee to Powell on one occasion.

Check out ESPN to read more. We’ll have video of her appearances up throughout the day.

Actually yes…yes I am. I still don’t understand the fan base’s hate for Pitino, and this is just plain bad. It’s bad for the school, it’s bad for the state, and damn it it’s bad for the rivalry.

    • ukjaybrat

this has nothing to do with the “state” of kentucky other than it happened here.. and f- the rivalry. louisville fans are getting what they deserve after 6 years of saying calipari is a cheat and our banners will come down. “just wait”

While I appreciate your comment, you are wrong. Since it’s in the state of Kentucky it has a lot to do with the state of Kentucky. It’s paints a bad picture in the media…period. F the rivalry??!?! Seriously?! Rivalries are no good when they’re lopsided; they’re at their best when every game is meaningful. Quit being bias and look at the bigger picture.

    • Poppschmidty

      10:59 am October 20, 2015 Permalink

I am biased, and i am looking at the bigger picture. i don’t like louisville. i don’t like most of their fans. i can live without the rivalry if it means i don’t have to deal with them anymore. we have plenty of good rivalries without louisville. duke/unc/kansas, even uconn lately. louisville wouldn’t exist without riding our coattails and recycling our old coach. i don’t want anything to do with them.

    • Poppschmidty
      11:10 am October 20, 2015 Permalink

Duke and Kansas are not rivalries…we don’t play them enough to count. UCONN has had our number and beaten us in 2 Final 4’s; so my hatred is easily growing for that one there. If you can’t have a meaningful conversation with a Louisville fan you might be the common denominator of the problem. It’s fun to poke at them, yes, but we come off as gigantic asses in most of those conversations; I’ve been guilty of it a ton. After all, it’s only sports.

Admit it, take the lumps and move on. But what parent would want their kid going to after this – oh yeah, they had sex with parents of players too. Now that’s a family affair.

What a great way to start the day, nice way to get through the week. I hope they shut down everything, do the basketball world a favor. One less team that we have to see wear those hideous Adidas jerseys with the sleeves. Still holding onto the hope that the banner comes down, would be almost as good as winning number 9. God, you UK fans are as delusional as they come. Figures you guys would be the first with the pick axes and torches. And saying Tard is a little more un PC than saying cali pay me or coRUPPT Arena. GTFO, one is the short slang for calling a retard (a special needs person), and the other is, well, its obvious what they are saying there. Its apples and oranges. Go back and get another championship Tattoo, just make sure to scribble out the 2015 and add 2016, then choke and do it all again next year. So, this woman whores out women, including apparently her own children, an U of L is the bad guy? This woman is a whoremonger and terrible mother, selling women into the lowest for of self-degrading “work” including HER OWN CHILDREN! yet ESPN wants us to believe she is a hero for coming forth about this? It goes on at many colleges, and while not right at all, this woman is just trying to make a quick buck off of others, just like she did when she was whoring out those girls.

Ever find that you have trouble ripping banners down from the rafters after you have been sanction by the NCAA? Ricky Three Stacks here for a new invention that will revolutionize the art of vacating wins and National Titles. Velcro Banners. Velcro Banners are easy to apply, just take off the protective covering, stick to the back of the banner and to the front of the surface to hang the banner, and wallah! You have an easy to remove piece of history in case of NCAA sanctions meaning that Andre McGee, the prostitute-loving director of basketball operations self were guilty as sin but Tom Jurich, wink wink, decided you were too good for business.

No more cherry pickers, no more having to get the janitor to walk the cat walk. Just use the include free pole to grasp the bottom of the banner and gently tug to allow the vacated piece of cheating, prostituting lore fall to the arena floor.

Guilt by association! Kills me how coaches ALWAYS say “I knew nothing”!!! Pitino’s middle name must be “Shultz”! As in Sgt. If this went on for 4 YEARS, that we know of, there is no chance he knew nothing. Coaches give orders, then say “don’t tell me”. Plausible denial. Throw everyone under the bus, but save their own hide. Pitino was engaged in his own multiple affairs while this was going on. Syphonater was the one that went public. Well, at least that got attention. Me infers broke another sex story on Pitino back then, that didn’t get much attention, because Karen was holding court. The ghost of Wooden is still working overtime for Denny!!! That’s the only thing that kept UL afloat back when Crum steered that ship. Denny had many sex scandals. Everything went on back then. That’s why they got the name UofSmell. Follow the money here. No way McGee could have paid for all of this out of pocket. If the NCAA doesn’t allow “unlawful fringe benefits”, what can they call this? Kanter couldn’t play for us, because of money. I guess if they had invested that money in hookers, he could have cleared???!

Sounds like typical irrational UK arguing going on…this is disgusting and truthfully (as a UofL fan) I believe that Rick’s days should be numbered in our program, but not before he is able to show everyone that he has nothing to do with this (assuming that he is telling the truth which I believe he is). To the ignorant UK fan saying the they “hate most Louisville fans” I truly hope you are saying you hate most of the ones you know and not that you are able to make a statement which infers you have met MOST of the UofL fans. And beings that is probably what you are saying, to you I would say…PICK BETTER FRIENDS!! Again as a UofL fan I feel that this is disgusting and reflects terribly on the program and we will never be able to grow past this until Rick is gone unfortunately, but UK fans be honest, you love this because of the relationship between our schools. It makes you look better than us, that’s the bottom line and what seems to be what most yUK fans, that i have met, care most about. The true BIG picture is that Katrina should be locked in jail for a number of felonies, Mcgee should be fired from being afiliated with any NCAA intity and Rick, assuming his innocence, should finish this season, maybe one more and calmly move on to bigger and possibly better times, leaving THE UofL to grow as a program.
