21 ESPN experts pick Duke to win title, Dan Dakich likes Kentucky

ESPN’s crack college basketball staff released its predictions for the upcoming college basketball season and 21 of the 31 so-called experts picked Duke to win it all in the end:

Jay Bilas
Jeff Borzello
Eamonn Brennan
C.L. Brown
Chris Cotter
Mike Couzens
Brad Daugherty
LaPhonso Ellis
Len Elmore
Adam Finkelstein
Fran Fraschilla
Dino Gaudio
Jeff Goodman
Sean Harrington
Andy Katz
Kara Lawson
Myron Medcalf
Miles Simon
Adnan Virk
Dick Vitale
Bob Wischusen

Only Sean Farnham and Dan Dakich picked Kentucky to become champion. Yes, that Dan Dakich.

The high expectations for Duke were expected, but what’s somewhat surprising is only 14 of the 31 experts put Kentucky in their Final Four. Reaching the Final Four is extremely difficult, but if you’re making a prediction, it is pretty tough to count out John Calipari and the second-ranked team in the country.

But what do I know? I’ve only been to four Final Fours in six years since covering the team full-time.

There’s so much about that picture to hate… and I DO with an indescribable burning intensity in the pit of my gut.

Please try not to use that photo–or any other from the aftermath of that championship–again!

ESPN has become an infomercial for Duke basketball. I guess they think coach K. needs all the help he can get when battling Coach Cal for recruits. I can’t believe Trip Allen is a pre-season all-american, what a farce. If a Kentucky kid acted like that he’d be black-balled from any awards. frack duke.
    GO CATS !!

Demarcus Cousins did act like that and it didn’t hurt him any. it also wasn’t long ago that our very own UK team had its 3 game summer Bahamas trip against the Dominican Republic, France and Puerto Rico televised on espn. There is no need to act like we are getting the short end of any stick because thats just not the case.

Dakich picks Kentucky to win but hopes they don’t. When the season’s over, he loves to talk about how Calipari once again failed to meet expectations. Screw ‘im. Screw ’em all. After this election, why should we pay attention to anyone’s predictions?
