Your boy and mine, Jeff Goodman, is reporting that North Carolina freshman center Tyler Zeller is going to be returning to the court this evening for the first time since he broke his wrist after being fouled by Ramon Harris, the air and his own awkwardness. While this normally might not mean much to all of us, this could actually be potentially enormous news considering the curse lingering over Ramon Harris could finally be lifted.
You see, in the first two games of the season (VMI and UNC), Harris resembled something of a basketball player, averaging 15.5 points and minimizing the dribbles off of his leg. But, in the games since Zeller was announced to be out for the season, a frightening jinx has overtaken Ramon “Don’t call me Ed” Harris (“Razor” is jinxed too!). During that time, Alaska’s sharpest export has seen his productivity drop to 3.95 ppg and he’s battled a couple of injuries, including nearly dying a couple of times. He even changed to #5, which we all know is not even that lucky. That’s how bad it’s been for Razor and for us all.
So, hopefully, this is a big positive for the Cats to build on for the rest of the year. If they can harness this magic and luck and find a way to forge it well with their toughness and intensity, it could add up for a big post-season for both Kentucky and Ramon Harris.
