Tim Couch and Rex Chapman in studio with KSR
Erin Calipari joined us in the first hour for what I think is the best hour of radio in the show’s history. She was gold. GOLD. The oldest of the Calipari children shared what it was like growing up as the daughter of Coach Cal and how life has changed since the family moved to Lexington. Her stories included bunking together on family vacations, broken toasters, half-eaten sandwiches at school, and Coach Cal’s obsession with Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister.”
Listen to learn about John Calipari, the human being. You’ll love every minute of it.
You’d think it would be impossible to follow Erin’s hour of radio with even more entertaining UK talk, but we managed to pull it off with two more special guests. UK legends Rex Chapman and Tim Couch, two hometown heroes in Kentucky, sat together in studio for the second hour. It’s only the second time they’ve met since Couch was 10 years old. Couch told us he used to pretend he was Rex Chapman while shooting in the driveway as a child.
The radio show will be back Wednesday. These should hold you over until then.
