With very little out there in terms of UK links on this Derby Saturday and with my head still hurting from a rare night of drinking at the Rays’ game, we’re going to make it quick on the links today and only dish out one….but it’s a good one.
The frustrations of a few Kentucky fans have been making their way to the message boards over the curious twists and turns of the John Wall recruiting saga, but the Wilmington Star-Online takes it to print and writes a pretty scathing review of Wall’s recruitment. Brett Friedlander, an “ACC Insider” and hopefully a relative of him, takes the stance that the jury is still out on whether or not John Wall is the type of player that would lead a team to a championship and compares him to…..JJ Hickson? Yikes. But, the best part of the article has to be this line:
Let him go to Kentucky, where he’ll help John Calipari get established and maybe sell a few tickets before leaving for the NBA. Duke, UNC and State simply don’t need the aggravation.
Brett Friedlander, I couldn’t agree more. Let John Wall come to Kentucky – a program deep and talented at every position except point guard. And let John Wall be the missing piece to a balanced, dangerous team. And let John Wall make you write a piece in a year titled “What was I thinking?”.
**And yes, I’m well aware this was posted in the comments of the previous thread. Keep your insults to a minimum. Thank you.
