#7 don’t worry about idiots like that. He’s a perfect example of why fans are turning away from national media and turning to places like KSR. Sportswriters have to sensationalize stories to get people to read their crap.

Must Say this Team has to go down as one of the best Kentucky Team ever. Hard to Believe three years ago we were in the NIT, Great Job Caoch Cal, thank you Big Blue Nation

Coach Cal told Andy Katz “I would like to coach an undefeated team before I’m through with this. Why? Because it can’t be done, so lets chase that.” Do you think this will be his selling pitch to Noel, and Muhammad? He never says anything without it being a calculated move. He is a genius!!!

This may have been discussed earlier; I haven’t been reading many comments this morning. But WHAT THE HECK is up with the Nike “8*” shirt with that damn asterisk on it?!?! On the back, too?!?! It may have been innocent enough, but WHY does the damn asterisk need to be there?!?! That’s all BBN needs is more fuel to the haters and Cal detractors out there. Whoever approved that design needs to be strung up & dealt with!!!

  33. BobKYCats
    12:08 pm April 3, 2012 Permalink

32: It is an unfortunate design, but the asterisk is meant to designate a footnote, which in this case is on the back of the shirt.

Where is “old school cat” or whoever he was that I had to call out last year when he was bailing on the team and saying Cal would never win a title? I think he crawled back into his hole last year when we made our run and the team showed the heart and togetherness that Cal is able to pull out of his teams. I hope he’s able to come into the light now and enjoy the history we’ve made this year. So sweet to see this team accomplish this goal and to silence all doubters!!!

    36. Pretty sure “Old School” was an IU or UL fan trolling. He’ll be quiet for about two days but he’ll be back. He’s a loser and therefore has nothing else better to do.

  38. bmt22033
    12:20 pm April 3, 2012 Permalink

@32 – I don’t think that asterisk means what you think it means. To me, putting a giant 8 on the front of the shirt with an asterisk next to it simply means that there’s a further explanation for what the “8” means. In this case, that explanation is located on the back of the shirt where it says “EIGHT TIME NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS”.

11-Darius was the only one that went through the line with the coaches and shook hands with the players from Kansas.
31-The coaches cut down one net and the players cut down the other one.

  43. Wha???
    12:32 pm April 3, 2012 Permalink

35,40; I agree and I do understand the intent of the design and what it’s supposed to mean. I also agree with 35 that the design is ‘unfortunate’. But in this day and age, when you talk about sports statistics and include asterisks, the generally only has a negative connotation associated with it. OK, I’m off my soapbox now, don’t mean to be negative among all the celebration. Who cares what the T-shirts may say I guess, we got #8 and it’s about time!

  44. FatCat
    12:33 pm April 3, 2012 Permalink

@41 – Miller went directly to shake hands with the Kansas coaches and players after the buzzer. A true class act all the way around and the understated reason why we got 8.

Kentucky is clearly the greatest program in College Basketball. 11 Titles 40 years ago doesn’t keep you on top forever. UCLA isn’t even in the top 3 in total wins. We are the #1 team in Overall Wins, Tournament Wins, Wins per decade, etc.
Love this team, love Cal and love the BBN! Thank YOU GUYS for going through these long 14 years with me!!! GO CATS

I am proud to say that I watched the game with my dad, my brothers and my son and it was such a special moment when the game ended and the reality set in that were were once again national champions! What an amazing season it has been and there is no doubt in my mind that this will go down as one of the greatest TEAMS in not only UK history but also NCAA history! GBB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all of you discriminating the shirt, please remember although it may not be your favorite design, the shirt is not why BBN is celebrating. We are celebrating because we just brought home number 8. So please stop focusing on the shirt and focus on what really matters. These boys brought us a victory and we are so proud of them! Congrats boys, and coaches, we love you so much and will miss you all next year. We couldnt have done it without all of you. Y’all make being a wildcat fan the best thing ever!!! GO CATS!
