YAHTZEE! Nico Firios commits to Kentucky

The good times keep on rolling!
3-star linebacker Nico Firios just committed to Kentucky over Louisville, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Indiana, Rutgers, USF, and others. He’s considered the 18th best inside linebacker in the country by ESPN, and announced his decision via Twitter minutes ago:
Proud to announce my commitment to the UK FAMILY!!! #BBN stand up!
— Nico Firios (@NicoFirios) June 11, 2013
At 6’1″, 220 lbs, Firios is a Florida native with a 3-star ranking by Rivals and Scout. ESPN thinks more highly of him, giving a 4-star ranking. He’s the third player to commit to Kentucky in the last 24 hours, and more are on their way. Watch him work on hudl.
The most amazing part? Per Justin Rowland, his commitment will push Kentucky to the FOURTH BEST RECRUITING CLASS IN THE NATION.
This is happening, folks.

Good get and welcome to UK and the BBN Nico Firios. we needed some quality LB in this class and we have got Dorian Hendrix, Kobie Walker, and now Nico Firios.
Still haven’t won a game yet, folks
I also forgot but we have JUCO LB Ryan Flannigan as well.
#3 I would love to look up a message board after Charlie got hired and seen where you had hi hopes for Charlie after dealing with kraigthorpe and how bad you hated uk people for saying the exact thing you are right there. So help yourself remember those days and refrain from being a douche bag like most and let people enjoy “our” boards and you can go enjoy yours!!!
#3 troll. We also haven’t played a game. Firios is another piece to the rebuilding. Our recruiting talent has taken a big step up. That’s obvious.
still haven’t played a game yet, folks
3 – I have combed through this site and haven’t found one person claiming that UK has won a 2013 or 2014 fb game. We get it. Can’t we just enjoy the positive momentum – we deserve it after last season.
3 – Thats right. Oh, and Louisville went undefeated in a LOADED Big East in Strong’s first year as head coach, if I remember correctly….
Wait…
3-4?!?!?!?!
In the Big EAST?!?!?!?
Flat out crushing mush mouth and fat boy hurtt in recruiting. They’ll start waxing that ass on the field in the very near future.
UK could lose every single game this year except against stupid ass Loserville and I would be happy. I would love to read a comment section one time without some Loserville loving jackass posting comments like #3/7. I understand that they care more about UK sports than their own but please stay the hell off of KSR. Go CATS and screw UL. Dont be mad that we stole yet another “prospect” from you. PS…enjoy that shit conference you play in for one more year.
wow…what would top this off if somehow we could land a 5 star recruit….does anyone know if we are even in the mix for 5 STAR??
@12 There are rumors that Barker could become a 5 star after the camps that he’s been going to. Other than that, I don’t believe we are. Hell, I could be wrong though.
3, is that you Jerry?
3 – Sounds like somebody is nervous.
#11) be easy… I’m a UK fan. I was playing off of #3’s comments.
10 clint hurtt has been fired for giving ted bridgewater impermissible benefits during his recruitment
To me, since basketball has 20 5-star players (using Rivals), football should have like 60 of them. However, there are still only 18 football recruits with 5-stars. Also, according to Rivals, we are on the list for Lorenzo Carter, the 5th best player in America (DE). But that list is long. As cool as it would be to get a 5 star, loading up on 3 and 4 stars carries more weight than it would seem.
Kid looks aggressive. I like the way he keeps his feet moving through tackles. Good addition to the BBN.
20 ) Ill say it….looks a lot like a Clay MAtthews….the speed and physicality that he plays with is on another level…
This is definitely a great commit for UK and Stoops but is Nico Firios a Greek name? Ive never seen a super great Greek football player. Thats the only downside I see. Its like horse racing, if the horse doesnt come from a long line of winners then im not betting on them.
21) I think that is a bit of a jump.
just looking forward to the season starting
foward
20. I’ve seen linebackers in the NFL not look as fundamental as this kid does in his highlight videos, honestly. I like the Matthews comparison.
21- Uh have you ever heard of Achillis or Hercules. I think they would be pretty damn good linebackers
Once again a 4 Star (check ESPN) the fifth one in two days!
21 – C’mon! Everybody loves Alex Karras: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Karras
26) Lol…not to mention Ulysses, and a little event called the Olympics.
21) What about Jimmy the Greek, huh?
Leonidas and the 300?
I wish shi theads would stay off KSR boards.I thought neanderthals were extinct, but I guess they are still around, sneaking in from the Loserville boards.Anyway, welcome to BBN Nicio Firios. Here’s one Kentuckian who’s happy to see you decide to become a member of “Stoops Troops.”
Not only Alex Karras, but his brothers also had NFL careers. Also, Pete Pihos was of Greek descent and an NFL Hall of Fame receiver for the Eagles. Plus, who can forget Garo Yepremian who “keek touchdowns” for the Lions and Dolphins??
#9 how did the last Bowl Game UK played work out vs.The Big East? The Big East?
your right bob, the big east has been a powerhouse, lok at all the national championships they have won the last 10 years, wait a minute, that was the SEC, my mistake. also there was a greek player recentlythat played for ohio state named james larenitis who was the son of one of members of the tag team the road warriors of the wwf.
U of L has just had the greatest year in the history of NCAA team sports, and the Cats are still out-recruiting them in every sport.
