With No Info on His Decision, Might as Well Take a Wiggins Poll

World Select Team v USA Junior Select Team

We have a little over 24 hours until Andrew Wiggins makes his announcement, and no real information regarding his current leanings or dispositions.  The best lead we have is a possible subtweet by his high school teammate that is just as easily, and much more likely, a generic claim that wrapping up your senior year of high school is fun.

So, in times like these, I suppose it’s up to BBN to do something that we do best: destroy an online poll.  ZagsBlog currently has a tally of where fans think Wiggins will go, and it’s currently a close race between UK and UNC, with FSU third.

The poll is ultimately meaningless, but then again, so is everything else until 12:15 tomorrow.  Your job, your family, that thing you needed to pick up from the grocery store; nothing really has any consequence until Wiggins makes his choice tomorrow.  So until then, we might as well do what we know.

Go Wiggins.  Go Cats.

I’m still saying UK. No presser does not have to equal FSU.

You’re right. Since no one knows except Wiggins’ inner circle, this poll is meaningless. Therefore, so is this post.

A closed signing? This does not bode well for UK…no joke intended. Why? The Wiggins family knows that a press conference open to the public will attract a zillion UK fans. Does the young man want to pick a school other than Kentucky with all those Cat fans? It is almost a reverse to the logic KSR and others used with Drew Barker. Why would he pick a school other than KY with a gym full of Cat fans? If true, our best hope is that he chooses Florida State.

Don’t link zags anymore, he begs for hits with random UK articles and Wiggins “updates” and he could care less about UK.

    4. Agree 100%. Closed signing is not a good sign for UK. I too agree, go to Florida State and not KU or UNC.

#4 & #8 – I don’t think a closed signing means anything. The kid has been up front from the beginning in saying that he doesn’t like the process or being in the spot light. I really think this whole time has been about Wiggins wanting to go somewhere different than where his parents want him to go. Many have reported that they wouldn’t be surprised if Wiggins didn’t have any press conference and just tweeted out where he was going. This seems in line with what he has always wanted to do which is announce in a low key fashion. I mean think about it, he could’ve had a press conference and just invited a handful of reporters and answered questions as to why he picked where he is going but he only picked one. One that he likes and trust….one that he knows will ask a few questions and when Wiggins says, I’m done answering questions, he knows he is done. I say all that to say I have felt for a couple of months that this kid is FSU bound….but even if I thought he was going to UK I would expect he would ‘announce’ in a similar fashion. He just doesn’t want all the attention…..something he had better get used to no matter where he goes because the hype train will before ever attached to him until he is done in the NBA.

I have to believe Florida State, not because of the closed signing. It would be a madhouse if it was an open signing even if UK wasn’t on his list. Bottom line, who cares? He’s a kid making a decision on where he wants to train for the NBA, not exactly a life changing decision here….

    Closed presser = Florida State

    Mark it down.

A month ago…”he’ll probably just have a friend tweet it out, he’s not an attention seeker”…the feeling is UK is the leader.

Yesterday…”having a closed ceremony, probably going to FSU”…what?

Do we think that if he had picked UK, that he suddenly WOULD want a chaotic press conference to finish his recruitment? The one thing we’ve had against us this whole time, is that he doesn’t seem to want attention. But everything he’s said seems to point to UK. I can’t believe everyone is jumping ship on UK because of this.

Think back to that interview he had during the McDonalds All-American week and how excited he seemed at the thought of playing with all the current recruits coming in.. That still gives me great hope that we land him.

Just overheard three overweight white-haired men with UK blue suits on say something was a done deal. Therefore, my Wiggins UK odds go from 25:13 to 26:14. Stay tuned.

I opine he is going to UK because why else would Mr. Jones be providing an additional hour of the show tomorrow. I think he knows and is sworn to Cal’s secrecy.

I’ve noticed whenever the “media” take polls on where a kid is going, and we are involved, they have been wrong most the time unless it is that obvious. Look at Randle, Barker, …. I notice most of them picked FSU and 4 picked UK, the 4 mostly being people involved with Uk Sports. What do you think, If he does NOT pick UK, I want him to go to FSU, because I don’t see them being a threat, if he chose UNC or Kansas, they could be a threat.

It still is and always has been UK. He did not reclassify to go anywhere else. FSU was to appease parents. UNC and KU were brought in so he could just have something to compare to in the recruiting process. The kid is going to make a big business decision tomorrow. Ask yourself- what’s the best BUSINESS decision he could make?

No surprise here he’s been FSU’S to lose from the start!

    27) Actually FSU is probably to best business choice. He can go there and dominate the ball! As good as he is he will still be just a part of a great team. He really has nothing to gain by comeing to UK. If he wins here it’s expected if he wins at FSU he’s gold.
Championships are hard to win its no guarantee we win even with him! Good luck to him no matter where he goes.

No worries. When Wiggins announces he’s going to FSU, Cal will immediately call him and up the ante, forcing a “change of heart”. Its UK. How couldn’t it be?
