Winston Guy to the Seahawks [**Update: Trevathan to Denver]

Kentucky is officially on the board in the NFL draft, as the Seattle Seahawks selected safety Winston Guy with the 11th pick in the 6th round. That translates to #181 overall for Guy, who will join Pete Carroll’s squad in Seattle. The Seahawks currently have only two safeties on the roster and Guy is the first one they’ve drafted, so that is at least a good sign for his prospects of sticking with the team as a late-round pick. Congrats to Winston on being drafted and we wish him the best as he embarks on his NFL career. Now we just have sit and wait for someone to get the steal of the draft when they take Danny Trevathan.
**Update: We didn’t have to wait long, as Denver just selected Trevathan with the 18th pick in the 6th round, #188 overall. He’ll go to the Broncos to play with Wesley Woodyard, Jacob Tamme and some guy named Peyton Manning. Congrats to Trevathan, who was a beast from day one at Kentucky and will now get a well-earned shot to show his stuff in the league. Good luck to him.

trevathan to the broncos
Denver Wildcats. Jacob Tamme. Wesley Woodyard. Danny Trevathan..
If he went to Arkansas he would have been drafted 180 13/14.
Congrats to Winston! I still can’t believe Danny Trevathan has not been picked. He will be a great addition to any team that gets him.
true that #2
I hope that they have a defense in Seattle for Winston that has a position like Minter had him in…where he doesn’t have to think or make decisions, just “go get the football”. Minter saved his butt from being a complete bust at UK.
SWEET! TREVATHAN AND WOODYARD ON THE FIELD WILL BE DEADLY!
Trevathan to Denver!
Congrats to both guys and thanks for being a Wildcat !
CFT
Thanks indeed for being a Wildcat….and Welcome to Colorado!
If only one or both went to the patriots! Ugh that wouldve been a dream. Pryor, trevathan, and guy
I just became a Bronco’s fan…………one heck of a group
This makes me feel better & yes congrats to both.
I had just came in from outside cuz I got down in the dumps thinkin’ about our football program, found my kids football, and kicked it as hard as I could into the neighbors yard. All 10 yards to their property.
But yes, feel better now with 2 more cats in the league.
11) Yeah and if all or both or …were on the …..
damn ridge you crack me up.
Good to see Trevathan in Denver as Wesley can be there to show him thru some things before he steps on the field.
Congrats to both! Good luck to all Cats in the NFL
They should have a team of just wildcats in the nba and nfl. Tim masthay, randall cobb, John Conner, Danny trevathan, Winston guy, Wesley woodyard, Jacob tamme, Stevie Johnson, etc. How sweet it is to be a wildcat fan.
aren’t Jeremy Jarmon and Braxton Kelley still on the practice squad in Denver as well?
Good catch 18.
Well I know Jarmon is as he shows up on the Bronco Roster. So, that makes 4 Cats for sure. Can’t seem to confirm Kelley.
Now that that joke of a QB is with the Jets, Denver may be worth rooting for.
Looks like some rosters still show Jarmon & then I found this from NFL.com
Jarmon was cut on September 3, 2011, as the Broncos made final decisions for their 53-man roster. The front office called it a “tough cut,” noting that Jarmon’s attempted switch to defensive tackle likely hurt his development. So…anyways.
NFL Rosters are very difficult to read. One minute they cut somebody and one minute they sign them back as a free agent.
After seeing Winston get the nod, I was thinking about Danny and how others had missed on Wesley. Congrats to both these young men.
Braxton Kelley is a Grad Assistant for us now.
