University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Wildcats in the Lead for Tony Wroten

Seattle native Tony Wroten is not your typical kid. He is extremely gifted athletically. If it were not for an ACL injury, the Garifield High School standout would still be playing football. However, basketball is more of Tony’s nitche if I may say so myself. Along with that, he is one of the most verbal athletes out there and uses his Twitter to talk up a storm about all things from his recruitment to what he’s eating and beyond.

On his twitter a few days ago, Wroten, who goes by @ToneTone13 on his twitter wrote, “Man imma just be honest. I wanted to goto syracuse sooo bad but they ain’t recruiting me. I would of committed there if they was on me.” Seems like Syracuse doesn’t want him anymore…

The tweets have gotten even more interesting as he has spent time with Team USA, most notably, Kentucky commits Marquis Teague ’11 & Michael Gilchrist ’11. Wroten tweeted, “Hahahahaha its so funny cause my bros #MikeGilchrist and @MarquesTeague recruit me more than calipari does for kentucky. Lol“. Clearly, the three are very close. The three are constantly hanging out and Teague even went as far as screaming to a reporter that Wroten was going to Kentucky.

Now that you’ve heard everyone’s opinion on it, let’s get some quotes from Tony, himself.

What is Wroten’s list looking like?Kentucky is my favorite, followed by Washington, UConn, Villanova and St. John’s.”

Why is Kentucky ahead of the pack?My relationship with Marquis Teague and Michael Gilchrist. I love the dribble drive offense and Coach Calipari.”

What is your relationship like with the coaching staff? They are cool… I haven’t really talked to them much, though.”

Which school is pursuing you the hardest?Washington and Villanova.”

Any plans on when you might commit? Will there be a parade? Any day, just stay tuned. It’s gonna be something like that. It’s gonna be crazy though!

However, if Tony Wroten has an offer from the Wildcats, why hasn’t he committed yet? Some believe he does not actually have one. He cleared this up via Twitter.

One question of concern has always been the point guard position. Marquis Teague wants to be the starting point guard just as much as Wroten does. Wroten said he would be just fine with sharing the point with his good friend and new USA teammate. It seems like Tony Wroten could commit to Kentucky any day now. Be on the look out for it because it could happen right now as you read this!
