Wildcat Superlatives

The folks over at SaturdayDownSouth have been handing out superlatives to players from each position from across the SEC. Unfortunately our guys in the blue and white they have yet to be awarded as superlative to define their upcoming season so I’ve decided to hand out a few of my own. While it is hard to determine these roles with the season yet to get underway this are still some of the superlatives I think these athletes have earned:

Ready to Break Out: Max Smith

Max Smith had a solid season for a freshman last year as he stepped in to replace Morgan Newton. This year though he is ready to step in and have a breakout year under center. I expect to see a much improved product on the field and it all begins with #11 Max Smith. Look for him to have a breakout year.

Most Likely to Win The WWE Championship: Jack Gruenschlager

Big Jack Gruenschlager is a 6’11 360 pound behemoth who walked on for the Cats last season. Once his playing days are over Jack could be a perfect fit for professional wrestling a la Kevin Nash. Diesel played basketball at Tennesse before making his way to the WWF. Perhaps Gruenshclager can follow a similar career path, either way from now on I’m calling him Big Daddy Cool.

Most Automatic: Craig McIntosh

Auto-McIntosh is the clear cut most automatic guy on the team. For his career he has made field goals at an 80% clip including a long from halfway across the field. He’s so automatic that if wind and stadiums didn’t factor into the equation he would have a 100% success rate. My buddy Crum once saw kick a field goal field goal from the opposite parking lot and it split the uprights.

Most Irreplaceable: Collins Ukwu

A natural born leader is something hard to find and something even harder to replace. Yesterday, Ukwu was named captain of the defense and may have the most important role on the team this year. Rallying the defense against the heavy hitters of the SEC. The defense last year kept us in a bunch of games while the offense struggled to find their ground. If they can do more of the same this year Kentucky may be able to pull off a couple of upsets.

Those are a few of the superlatives I have for this year’s team. Which ones would you add? Is Joker Phillips most likely to succeed? Or the clown of the SEC? Which of the wide receivers can earn the title of most improved? Can the freshman running backs earn the title of biggest impact? Let me know your picks in the comments below.

When I first saw Big Jack Gruenschlager, immediate thought was WWE.

However, he could fit in nicely as a ‘Depends’ product tester….quickly scaring the clientele into defecation mode.
