I’ll be honest… It was hard for me to celebrate Nerlens Noel’s commitment last night because I was too consumed with the fact that he held up Jarrod Polson’s jersey when he announced. When most Kentucky fans were out burning old loveseats and shaving UK logos into the backs of their heads, I was left flabbergasted, staring at the television, wanting answers.
At first, I thought Noel was planning to wear #5 at UK and Polson would voluntarily take on a new digit for his jersey. But after closer inspection, Nerlens Noel held up Jarrod Polson’s actual jersey.
But why???
We need answers.

So, the name on the back likely says Noel, or N. Noel. That is not an actual uniform, and it is most definitely no Polsons actual jersey.
Hopefully it means that waste of a roster spot is leaving…..I can only hope….Make some room for Noel, Goodwin, Poythress, Bennett, Pollard!!

Nerlens Noel is not the “First Noel” to play at the University of Kentucky. Paul Noel holds that title in the 1942-43 season. “The First Noel” wasn’t technically a one-and-done player but did only play one year at UK. He then went on to play for the New York Knickerbockers wearing the number 5. Boom!

It is actually Polson’s jersey, if you run it in slo motion it does say polson on the back, and it is illegal for UK team shop to make a jersey of an active player’s name and number. This is the biggest mystery in Lexington. Why does he have a polson jersey??????? Jerseygate! We need to know!! This isn’t even their current Jersey, this is the one before the pattern on the back. Why would Espn have a #5 Jersey laying around. This makes no sense! I hope we get answers and find out sometime. Another great story in KY recruiting…love it.
